
“Both sides should uphold the banner of peace, development, cooperation and win-win outcomes, jointly oppose unilateralism and protectionism, safeguard the global free trade system and keep the industrial and supply chains stable and unimpeded,” Xi said, according to a statement from the Chinese foreign ministry.
Xi’s remarks came during To Lam’s four-day state visit, aimed at improving Sino-Vietnamese ties as both countries seek to ensure energy security and navigate tariff pressure from the United States.

Lam is the latest in a series of world leaders to travel to China this week, arriving after Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan paid visits.
