Report Recommends Major Immigration Reform in Australia

Sydney —  A government-commissioned report Thursday called for a thorough overhaul of Australia’s immigration system. According to the Migration Review the system is “outdated” and does not meet the country’s current or future skills needs, and therefore requires a “long term and holistic” approach to find a solution. The report makes sweeping recommendations that will be considered by Australia’s left-leaning Labor government. UK Confucius Institutes enable ‘transnational repression,’ study says

Chinese staff at the so-called Confucius Institutes across the United Kingdom are recruited to enforce Chinese Communist Party (CCP) discipline and values in the country, new research has found. Singapore doubles property stamp duty for foreigners to 60%

Singapore has doubled its tax on private property purchases by foreigners to 60 per cent in an unexpected move to cool a housing boom that has in part been driven by buyers from mainland China. Japanese brewer Kirin has stepped up its push into healthcare after launching a A$1.9bn ($1.3bn) takeover offer for Australia’s largest vitamin company Blackmores.
